SheetLedger - Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using SheetLedger (“the App”), these terms will automatically apply to you. Please read them carefully before using the application.
1. Nature of Service & Architecture
- Serverless Architecture: SheetLedger is engineered as a local-first personal finance utility. We do not own, operate, or maintain central backend servers or transactional databases.
- Local Storage & Cloud Sync: All bookkeeping records remain stored strictly inside your local device storage. If cloud synchronization is enabled, data is transmitted directly to your personal Google Drive and Google Sheets infrastructure without passing through third-party servers.
2. User Responsibilities & Data Integrity
- Account & Device Security: You are solely responsible for securing your personal device, access credentials, and Google account.
- Manual Spreadsheet Modifications: The linked Google Sheet serves as a structured database backend. Manually editing, deleting, or altering rows, columns, or cell structures inside the Google Sheets interface may break database verification hashes, resulting in synchronization lockouts. The developers assume no responsibility for data loss or sync failures resulting from manual database tampering.
- Automated Security: Data encryption configurations, security metadata, and system keys are automatically managed and securely associated with your spreadsheet’s App Properties. No manual key management or passphrase memorization is required.
3. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
- Free Tier: Creating and managing unlimited offline local ledgers is completely free and 100% ad-free across all tiers.
- Cloud Sync Tiers: Cloud synchronization and linking multiple spreadsheets require an active subscription (Basic, Plus, Premium, Ultimate). All billing, renewals, and cancellations are processed through the Google Play Store and governed by Google Play Store policies.
- Usage Limits: Synchronizations are subject to rate limits and API quotas corresponding to your active subscription tier to maintain system stability.
4. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
- “As-Is” Provision: SheetLedger is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
- Not Financial Advice: SheetLedger is a personal data tracking tool only and does not constitute formal tax, accounting, investment, or legal financial advice.
- Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developers (
gophini / The Powerpuff Penguin) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including data corruption, profit loss, or financial inaccuracies) arising from the use or inability to use the App.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the App following updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
