This Privacy Policy explains how SheetLedger (“we”, “our”, or “us”) handles your information. SheetLedger is built as a privacy-first, decentralized, and serverless utility application. Our core philosophy is simple: Your data belongs to you, and we have absolutely no access to it.

By using SheetLedger, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

1. No Collection of Financial or Personal Data

SheetLedger is a local-first application. Unlike traditional bookkeeping apps, we do not own, operate, or maintain any central servers.

Your Financial Records: All transaction logs, account balances, and bookkeeping entries are stored locally on your device in a SQLite database.
No Server Interception: We do not collect, read, transmit, or monetize your personal financial information. Your data never touches any third-party infrastructure controlled by us.

2. Google Drive & Google Sheets Integration

To provide cloud synchronization and backup, SheetLedger allows you to connect your personal Google Account.

Data Scopes: The app requests restricted access to your Google Drive and Google Sheets solely to create, update, and manage your specific bookkeeping spreadsheets.
Direct Communication: All data transmission occurs directly between your device and Google’s official APIs. We do not act as a middleman, and we have no ability to view your Google account credentials, files, or spreadsheet tokens.
Data Ownership: You maintain full sovereignty over your spreadsheets. You can modify, export, or delete your files directly through your Google Drive at any time.

3. In-App Purchases and Billing (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat to manage premium subscriptions and in-app purchases.

When you purchase a subscription via Google Play, anonymized transaction data (such as product identifiers, purchase time, and subscription status) is processed securely to unlock your premium features.
No personal identity or specific financial payment methods (such as credit card numbers) are ever shared with or stored by us.

4. Device Permissions

The app may request the following permissions only to ensure core functionality:

Internet Access: Required exclusively to synchronize your local database with your personal Google Sheets and to process Google Play billing status.

5. Third-Party Services

While SheetLedger itself does not collect data, it utilizes trusted third-party services that may collect information used to identify you under their respective privacy policies:

Because SheetLedger does not store, process, or control any personal data on any servers, we fully comply with the principles of data minimization and privacy-by-design under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Since all data remains locally on your device or within your personal Google ecosystem, you have absolute control over your data deletion and portability rights.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect technical or regulatory changes. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
